MSI has unveiled a limited-edition GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card built for Call of Duty fans, introducing the GeForce RTX 5080 16G COD MW4 Edition OC with a bold custom design inspired by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.
The new MSI GeForce RTX 5080 16G COD MW4 Edition OC arrives as a collaboration with Activision and is designed to launch around the arrival of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, scheduled for October 23. While GPU availability remains challenging in many regions, manufacturers are still pushing out special-edition RTX 50 series models aimed at collectors, enthusiasts, and gamers looking for hardware that stands out inside a gaming PC.
This RTX 5080 variant keeps the core focus on NVIDIA’s high-end graphics performance while adding a strong military-themed visual identity. MSI has redesigned the card’s exterior with Call of Duty-inspired styling, including yellow accents that match the franchise branding. The most eye-catching detail is the heatsink, which has been fully painted yellow, giving the card a much more distinctive look than a standard black or silver GPU.
According to MSI, this is the first time a graphics card heatsink has received this type of full-color treatment. The yellow finish is mainly cosmetic, so buyers should not expect it to change the card’s thermal performance. Instead, the design is meant to give Call of Duty fans a collector-style GPU that fits the aesthetic of Modern Warfare 4.
The backplate also gets a unique design. It includes a transparent section featuring Ghost’s portrait, one of the most recognizable characters in the Call of Duty series. This area also exposes part of the PCB, adding a more technical, enthusiast-focused appearance to the card.
In terms of hardware, MSI has not announced any major changes compared to other GeForce RTX 5080 models. That means gamers can expect performance in line with existing RTX 5080 graphics cards, with the main difference being the exclusive design and factory-overclocked OC branding.
For cooling, the MSI RTX 5080 16G COD MW4 Edition OC uses the company’s TRIO FROZR 4 thermal system. This cooler features three STORMFORCE fans with claw-textured blades, designed to improve airflow and pressure across the heatsink. The card also uses a nickel-plated copper baseplate to help transfer heat away from the GPU more efficiently.
MSI has included its Wave Curved 4.0 and Air Antegrade Fin 2.0 technologies as part of the cooling setup. These features are intended to enhance airflow, improve heat dissipation, and keep noise levels under control during gaming sessions. For players planning to run demanding modern titles at high resolutions, efficient cooling will be a key part of maintaining stable performance.
The MSI GeForce RTX 5080 16G COD MW4 Edition OC is expected to be available in select countries starting October 23, 2026. MSI has not yet confirmed official pricing, so buyers will need to wait for regional availability and retailer listings to get a clearer idea of how much this limited-edition GPU will cost.
With its Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 theme, yellow-painted heatsink, Ghost backplate artwork, and RTX 5080 performance, MSI’s latest special-edition graphics card is clearly aimed at gamers who want more than just raw power. It is built for players who want their PC hardware to reflect the games they love.
