MSI is expanding its 2026 Raider gaming laptop lineup with more choices for players who want flagship-level performance without necessarily jumping straight to the most expensive model. After showing off the Raider Max 16 HX at CES 2026, MSI has now teased two additional 16-inch Raider options that should land at lower price points, including an AMD-powered version that can still be configured with the top-tier Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU.
The Raider Max 16 HX is positioned as one of MSI’s most powerful gaming laptops so far, built to push higher power limits than other Raider models. But MSI appears to recognize that not everyone needs the absolute highest-spec configuration, which is where the newly revealed Raider 16 HX B2W and Raider A16 HX B9W come in.
The Raider 16 HX B2W is the Intel-based alternative that keeps the same Raider Max-inspired design and core platform, but removes the option for the RTX 5090. Instead, it tops out at an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 laptop GPU. It’s also set to feature Intel Core Ultra 200HX processors, a 90 Wh battery, and a choice of 2.5K 16-inch displays in either IPS LCD or OLED. Both display options are listed at 240 Hz with full DCI-P3 color coverage, which is a strong combo for fast competitive gaming and color-sensitive work like content creation.
For buyers leaning toward AMD, MSI is also preparing the Raider A16 HX B9W. This model sticks to the same chassis footprint and portability profile as the Intel versions, measuring 363 x 269.7 x 21.95–28.85 mm and weighing around 2.6 kg. The big headline is configurability: MSI plans to offer it with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU and an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX, a high-end mobile processor that competes closely with Intel’s Core Ultra 9 285HX in performance testing.
There is one key trade-off, though. Unlike the Intel Raider 16 HX B2W, the Raider A16 HX B9W will be limited to an IPS display option with no OLED alternative mentioned at this time.
MSI hasn’t confirmed pricing or release dates for either the Raider 16 HX B2W or the Raider A16 HX B9W yet. The company also hasn’t shared official images of the AMD Raider A16 HX B9W so far. For now, the main takeaway is clear: MSI’s 16-inch Raider lineup for 2026 is growing into a more flexible range, giving gamers the option to choose Intel or AMD platforms, match GPUs to budget, and still aim for high-refresh 2.5K displays built for smooth gameplay.
