In that scenario, the laptop may run fine on wall power, but the battery may charge extremely slowly or not at all.

For MSI Prestige 16 AI+ owners, the practical takeaway is straightforward. If you frequently game, render, compile, or run other power-hungry applications, using a higher-watt USB-C power adapter—around 100 W or more—can make charging far more reliable during heavy use. If your workload is lighter or you prioritize portability, the included 65 W adapter remains sufficient and is easier to travel with.
