MSI is expanding its AM5 lineup with a fresh entry-level option aimed at gamers and DIY builders who want strong features without paying premium prices. The new MSI MAG B850M Gaming PRO MAX (including a WiFi variant) is built around AMD’s B850 chipset and stands out in a key way: it includes MSI’s “OC Engine,” an onboard solution designed to improve Ryzen overclocking.

What makes the OC Engine interesting for budget-focused builders is its independent BCLK control. In practice, this can open up better tuning potential than you’d typically expect in an entry-level motherboard, giving AMD Ryzen owners more flexibility to squeeze extra performance from their CPUs.
