Motorola Moto Pad 70 Launching in India with 5G, 12.1-Inch 2.5K Display, Android 16 and 68W Charging
Motorola is preparing to expand its tablet lineup in India with the launch of the Moto Pad 70. After teasing the Moto Pad 70 Groove, the company has now confirmed key details for the standard Moto Pad 70, including its launch date, display, processor, battery, software, and connectivity features.
The Moto Pad 70 is scheduled to launch in India on August 8. The tablet is aimed at users who want a large-screen Android tablet for entertainment, productivity, online classes, video calls, and light creative work.
One of the biggest highlights of the Moto Pad 70 is its 12.1-inch display. Motorola says the screen offers a 2.5K resolution, which should make it suitable for watching movies, browsing, reading, and multitasking. The display also supports up to 800 nits of brightness in High Brightness Mode, making it easier to use in bright indoor spaces and even outdoors.
Motorola is also including Moto Pen support with the tablet. Even better, the stylus will come inside the box, which adds extra value for students, artists, note-takers, and professionals who prefer writing or sketching directly on the screen.
Powering the Moto Pad 70 is the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset. This 6nm octa-core processor is designed to offer a balance between performance and efficiency. It should be capable of handling everyday tasks such as streaming, web browsing, document editing, social media, video meetings, and casual gaming.
Battery life is another major selling point. The Moto Pad 70 packs a large 10,200mAh battery, giving it the potential to last through long study sessions, workdays, or entertainment marathons. The tablet also supports 68W fast charging, which should help reduce downtime when the battery runs low.

On the software side, the Moto Pad 70 will run Android 16 out of the box. Motorola has promised two major Android version upgrades along with security updates until 2030. Motorola has already confirmed that the Moto Pad 70 Groove will launch in India on July 31 with a nine-speaker JBL audio system. The standard Moto Pad 70, however, appears to focus on a mix of productivity, portability, 5G connectivity, and all-around performance.
