Minisforum M2 Pro Mini PC Arrives With Intel Panther Lake, 180 TOPS AI Performance, and Serious Expansion Options
Minisforum is preparing a powerful new AI-focused mini PC called the M2 Pro, designed for users who want compact hardware without giving up high-end performance. Built around Intel’s upcoming Panther Lake processors, the M2 Pro aims to deliver strong local AI computing, fast memory, flexible storage, and impressive connectivity in a small desktop form factor.
One of the biggest highlights of the Minisforum M2 Pro is its AI capability. The system can deliver up to 180 TOPS of AI performance, helped by Intel’s Xe3 integrated graphics. This makes it a strong option for users working with AI tools, productivity apps, content creation software, and local machine learning workloads. Instead of depending entirely on cloud-based AI services, the M2 Pro is built to handle demanding AI tasks directly on the device.
The mini PC also supports up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X 8533 memory, giving it enough bandwidth and capacity for heavy multitasking and advanced workloads. For users who need even more AI compute power, Minisforum has included an OCuLink port, allowing an external GPU to be connected. This gives the M2 Pro extra flexibility for creators, developers, and AI enthusiasts who may want desktop-class graphics performance when needed.
Storage is another strong point. The Minisforum M2 Pro can house up to three M.2 2280 SSDs, making it suitable for storing large AI models, project files, media libraries, and professional software. This level of storage expansion is especially useful for anyone working with large datasets or local AI applications that require fast access to massive files.
Minisforum has also added a unique front-panel feature: a dedicated Microsoft Copilot button. Alongside the built-in microphone, this gives users quick access to the AI assistant without needing to navigate through menus or keyboard shortcuts. It is a small but practical addition that fits the M2 Pro’s focus on AI-powered productivity.
Despite its compact size, the M2 Pro offers a wide range of ports. It includes three USB-A ports, three USB4 ports, one HDMI port, one DisplayPort, one 2.5G LAN port, one 10G LAN port, an SD card slot, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a security cable slot. This makes it suitable for advanced desktop setups with multiple displays, high-speed networking, external storage, peripherals, and professional accessories.
The metal chassis gives the system a premium and durable feel, while VESA mount support allows it to be attached behind a monitor for a cleaner workspace. This makes the M2 Pro a strong fit for office desks, home studios, developer workstations, compact gaming setups, and AI research environments where space is limited but performance still matters.
With Intel Panther Lake, fast LPDDR5X memory, triple SSD support, OCuLink eGPU expansion, and built-in Copilot access, the Minisforum M2 Pro looks like a highly capable mini PC for the next generation of AI-driven computing. It combines the convenience of a small desktop with the features power users expect from a modern workstation.
