Get ready for the latest in tech innovation as Microsoft unveils the Surface Laptop 5G, set to make waves in August. Specifically tailored for business customers, this laptop enhances the Surface lineup by integrating cutting-edge 5G capabilities.
Originally introduced in January, the 5G version takes the 13.8-inch Surface Laptop for Business to a new level, featuring Intel’s Ultra Processor (Series 2). Equipped with both a 5G modem and eSIM module, it also includes a physical nano SIM card slot for added flexibility.
A standout feature of the Surface Laptop 5G is its Neural Processing Unit (NPU), which can deliver over 40 trillion operations per second, providing a boost in on-device intelligence. Connectivity is further enhanced by a dynamic antenna system, which consists of six antennas that adjust based on how the device is held, ensuring a stable, reliable connection. The laptop can also seamlessly toggle between Wi-Fi and 5G, acting as a mobile hotspot for other devices.
Starting at $1,799.99, this 5G model costs $300 more than its non-5G predecessor. This price includes an Intel Core Ultra 5 processor, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. A higher-end version at $2,699.99 offers an Intel Core Ultra 7, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. Both models will be available in a sleek Platinum Silver finish, with shipping starting on August 26.
While Microsoft hasn’t announced a 5G variant powered by Snapdragon processors yet, this release certainly positions the Surface Laptop 5G as a powerful tool for businesses looking to stay ahead in a fast-paced digital world.
