The creator of the manga series Otaku ni Yasashii Gal ni Watashi wa Naru!, known in English as I’ll Become a Gal Who’s Kind to Otaku!, has taken an unusual and fan-friendly approach to reaching international readers. After discovering that many overseas fans struggle to legally access manga that has not been officially localized, the creator decided to share English chapters for free.
The artist, who publishes under the pen name sugar., first became aware of the situation after finding an English fan translation of the series on an unauthorized manga site. Instead of immediately demanding that the translation be removed, sugar. contacted the translator and took a more constructive route.

The creator also admitted that they are unable to prepare a fully official English edition on their own because the manga has not yet reached the sales level needed for that kind of release. For now, sharing the translation directly is a practical way to let more readers discover the series.
