The Lumstrik is aiming to be the kind of flashlight that works equally well as a high-output searchlight and a compact everyday carry (EDC) tool. With a claimed maximum brightness of 5,000 lumens and an advertised beam distance of up to around 669 yards, it’s positioned for users who want serious output for outdoor use, emergency kits, or long-range spotting.
What makes the Lumstrik stand out is its modular build. Instead of being a single fixed-body flashlight, its aluminum housing is split into two sections. The handle can be unscrewed and swapped: keep the longer grip when you want maximum runtime, or switch to a shorter grip to create a smaller EDC-style setup that’s easier to pack and carry.
That size change comes with a clear trade-off. With the short grip installed, the flashlight holds one 21700 battery cell instead of two, which reduces runtime. On the 100-lumen low mode, runtime drops from about 30 hours to 15 hours. On the 2,000-lumen high mode, it falls from roughly 3 hours to 1.5 hours. Turbo mode is designed to reach the headline 5,000-lumen output, but even with the dual-battery configuration it’s rated to last only about three minutes, which is typical for ultra-high output modes that generate significant heat.
Beam characteristics are also described in practical terms. The reflector is said to cover a wide 90-degree area, while the central 20 degrees are intended to be the brightest—suggesting a mix of usable spill for close-to-mid range visibility with a stronger hotspot for distance.
For harsher conditions, Lumstrik offers an optional amber filter meant to improve visibility in fog and snow while reducing glare at night. Durability features include an IP68 rating for water resistance and stated drop protection up to about 6.6 feet. With the longer handle attached, the flashlight measures about 9.45 x 2.36 x 1.1 inches and weighs around 18.1 ounces including the battery.
Right now, the Lumstrik is being offered through a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign. The early-bird price is listed at $129, with shipping and possible import fees depending on location. The standard package includes the long grip and two rechargeable 21700 batteries. Add-ons include the short grip, the amber filter, and an extra rechargeable 21700 battery, each priced at $15.
Delivery is expected to begin in May 2026. Since this is the brand’s first crowdfunding project, it’s worth keeping in mind the usual crowdfunding risks, including potential delays or differences between early claims and the final shipped product.
