Lombard E ushers in Marin’s e-gravel era with Bosch SX Sprint power

Marin Bikes has stepped into the e-gravel arena with the Lombard E, its first electric gravel platform for Europe. The lineup includes two trims—Lombard E1 and Lombard E2—sharing the same frame and design but diverging on drivetrain and component specs for different riders and budgets.

Both models use an aluminum frame paired with a full carbon fork to balance efficiency with comfort on rough roads and mixed terrain. Wide tires and Shimano GRX hydraulic disc brakes add confidence and control when the route turns loose or steep. Power comes from a Bosch SX Sprint motor fed by an integrated 400 Wh PowerTube battery. While top speed, range, and torque figures haven’t been disclosed yet, the setup targets responsive assistance in a compact package.

Key differences between Lombard E1 and Lombard E2:
– Lombard E1: Shimano GRX 12-speed mechanical drivetrain; no dropper seatpost; conventional shifting
– Lombard E2: Shimano GRX Di2 12-speed electronic drivetrain with wireless shifting; Trans X dropper seatpost for on-the-fly saddle height adjustment

Marin keeps cockpit tech minimal on both versions, with no LCD display or app-based controls, a choice that will appeal to riders who prefer a cleaner setup and fewer distractions.

The Lombard E is offered in two dual-tone colorways—white/brown and grey/blue—and comes in sizes S, M, L, and XL. European pricing starts at €3,899 for the Lombard E1 and €4,699 for the Lombard E2. For availability and full specifications, visit Marin Bikes’ official website.
