Raleigh Captus low-step e-bike launches in the UK and EU with Bosch mid-drive power
Raleigh has unveiled the Captus, a sleek low-step electric bike built for comfortable urban riding and everyday commuting. Designed around a lightweight all-aluminum frame and a relaxed step-through geometry, the new model blends premium components with practical features to make daily trips easier.
At the heart of the Captus is a Bosch Active Line mid-drive motor delivering up to 40 Nm of torque and assisting to 15.5 mph (25 km/h), the legal limit for e-bikes in the UK and EU. Power comes from a Bosch PowerPack Rack 400 Wh battery, with a claimed range of up to 70 miles (112.6 km) per charge, depending on conditions and assist level.
Raleigh pairs the motor system with a Shimano 9-speed derailleur for smooth shifting, 28-inch tires for stable rolling, and hydraulic disc brakes for dependable stopping power in all weather. A 50 mm front suspension fork helps take the sting out of rougher city streets and paths.
Everyday practicality is a focus. The Captus comes ready to ride with full-coverage mudguards, a sturdy pannier rack, a kickstand, an integrated taillight, and a 6–12 V front headlight powered by the bike’s system. Security and control are enhanced by an Abus frame lock and a Bosch Purion 200 display that keeps ride data and assist modes at your fingertips.
