LG Expands UltraGear OLED Gaming Monitors With 45-Inch 800R Curved Displays, 1,300-Nit Brightness, and 240Hz Speed

LG expands UltraGear OLED lineup with 39-inch and 45-inch curved gaming monitors

LG is growing its UltraGear OLED gaming monitor family with two new large-screen models designed for players who want a more immersive desktop gaming experience. The latest additions, the LG 39GX90SB-W and LG 45GX90SB-B, bring bigger curved OLED panels, high refresh rates, strong brightness, and smart TV-style features into the gaming monitor category.

The new monitors build on the design and feature set of LG’s 34-inch curved OLED model, but scale the experience up to 39 inches and 45 inches. Both displays use an aggressive 800R curve, which is intended to wrap the screen more naturally around the viewer’s field of vision. For gamers, especially those playing racing titles, flight simulators, RPGs, and first-person shooters, this curvature can help create a deeper sense of immersion compared with flatter panels.

Both the 39GX90SB-W and 45GX90SB-B feature WOLED panel technology with MLA, helping improve brightness and visual performance while keeping the rich contrast and deep black levels OLED displays are known for. LG is positioning these monitors as premium options for users who want cinematic image quality along with fast gaming performance.

The two monitors offer a 3440 x 1440 resolution, giving users an ultrawide aspect ratio that provides more horizontal screen space than a standard 16:9 display. This makes them suitable not only for gaming but also for multitasking, video editing, streaming setups, and productivity work. The 240Hz refresh rate is another major highlight, offering smoother motion and faster responsiveness for competitive and fast-paced games.

Image quality is a key part of the package. Both displays are VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified, which means they are designed to deliver excellent black levels and strong contrast in HDR content. They also cover 98.5% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, making them appealing for users who care about vibrant, accurate colors in games, movies, and creative workflows.

Peak brightness is rated at up to 1,300 nits, a strong figure for OLED gaming monitors. Higher brightness can help HDR highlights stand out more clearly, whether it is sunlight in an open-world game, explosions in an action title, or bright neon lighting in a cyberpunk-style environment.

LG has also equipped the new UltraGear OLED monitors with its Alpha 8 AI Processor 4K Gen 3 technology. This processor is used to enhance picture and sound performance, bringing some of LG’s TV-style processing features into the monitor space. The displays also run on webOS, allowing users to access smart features without relying entirely on a connected PC or console.

AI Picture Pro and AI Sound Pro are included as part of the feature set. These technologies are designed to automatically optimize visuals and audio based on the type of content being displayed. That could make the monitors more versatile for users who switch between gaming, watching videos, streaming content, and general entertainment.

Audio performance has also received attention. The 39-inch LG 39GX90SB-W includes dual 5W speakers, while the larger 45-inch LG 45GX90SB-B comes with more powerful dual 7W speakers. Built-in monitor speakers are often basic, but LG appears to be offering a stronger onboard audio setup here for users who prefer a cleaner desk setup or do not always want to use headphones or external speakers.

Connectivity is modern and flexible. The monitors include HDMI, DisplayPort 1.4, USB-C with 65W power delivery, a LAN port, and USB Type-A ports for peripherals. The USB-C port with 65W charging support is especially useful for users who want to connect a laptop with a single cable while also keeping it powered.

With large curved OLED panels, 240Hz refresh rates, ultrawide resolution, smart features, and strong HDR support, the LG 39GX90SB-W and LG 45GX90SB-B are shaping up to be attractive options for gamers looking for a premium display upgrade. They also show how quickly the OLED gaming monitor market is evolving, with manufacturers moving beyond standard sizes and pushing into larger, more immersive formats.

LG has not yet announced official pricing for the 39GX90SB-W or 45GX90SB-B. Availability details are also still expected, but these models are likely to draw attention from gamers, content creators, and entertainment-focused users looking for a high-end curved OLED monitor.
