Lenovo’s New 14-Inch Global Laptop Packs Panther Lake Power, 32GB RAM, and Dual SSD Expansion

Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 9 IPL launches internationally with up to 32GB RAM and 1TB storage

Lenovo has expanded its business laptop lineup with the international launch of the ThinkBook 14 Gen 9 IPL, a compact 14-inch notebook aimed at professionals, students, and everyday users who want strong performance in a portable design.

One of the key highlights of the new ThinkBook 14 Gen 9 IPL is its memory and storage configuration. Lenovo is offering the laptop with up to 32GB of RAM, making it a strong option for multitasking, productivity apps, browser-heavy workflows, and hybrid work setups. Storage options include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB SSD configurations, giving buyers flexibility depending on their budget and performance needs.

Lenovo has also included an extra M.2 2280 slot with PCIe 4.0 support. This is a welcome addition for users who may want to expand storage later without replacing the original drive. For a modern 14-inch business laptop, upgrade-friendly storage is a practical feature that can extend the device’s lifespan.

The display situation is a little more limited at launch. Lenovo’s product documentation lists a higher-end 14-inch IPS panel option with a 1800p resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of brightness, and 100% sRGB color coverage. However, that premium screen does not appear to be widely available right now.

At the moment, buyers can mainly configure the ThinkBook 14 Gen 9 IPL with a 1200p IPS display running at 60Hz. This panel offers 400 nits of brightness and 45% NTSC color coverage. While this should be suitable for office work, web browsing, video calls, and general productivity, users who need strong color accuracy for design, photo editing, or creative work may want to wait and see if the better display option becomes available in more markets.

Pricing varies by region. The Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 9 IPL starts at AUD 1,619 in Australia, between €1,129 and €1,244 in parts of Europe, HKD 8,411 in Hong Kong, MYR 4,968 in Malaysia, SGD 1,687 in Singapore, and £1,045 in the United Kingdom.

Lenovo says the laptop is also coming soon to the United States and Canada. However, a configuration with an Intel Core Ultra 7 355 processor, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage is already listed in the US for $1,679.

Overall, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 9 IPL looks like a capable 14-inch business laptop with modern performance, generous memory options, and useful storage expandability. Its biggest drawback for now is the limited availability of the higher-quality display option, but for users focused on productivity, portability, and upgrade potential, it could be a strong choice in the premium business laptop market.
