GTA 6 Release Date Looks Locked as Take-Two Confirms November 19, 2026 Launch
Grand Theft Auto VI finally has a firm release date, and this time it looks more concrete than ever. Take-Two Interactive has confirmed that GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, following the company’s latest quarterly earnings report.
After years of rumors, anticipation, and one major delay, fans now have a date to circle on the calendar. More importantly, Take-Two’s financial outlook suggests that the company is treating this release date as a key part of its business plan rather than a loose target.
In its Q4 fiscal year 2026 earnings update, Take-Two projected net bookings of $8.0 billion to $8.2 billion for fiscal year 2027. That would represent a major increase compared to the $6.72 billion reported for the previous fiscal year. The company clearly expects Grand Theft Auto VI to play a central role in reaching those numbers.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick directly pointed to the November 19 launch of GTA 6 as one of the biggest drivers behind the company’s upcoming performance. He described the next fiscal year as one that could set new records for operating results, signaling strong confidence in Rockstar Games’ long-awaited title.
That level of public financial guidance matters. Once a company shares major projections with investors, the expectations become serious. While delays are never impossible in game development, especially for a project as massive as Grand Theft Auto VI, Take-Two’s outlook makes another postponement seem much less likely.
The company is heading into the GTA 6 launch window from a strong financial position. Take-Two reported $1.58 billion in net bookings for the quarter, exceeding its own guidance. Full-year revenue also climbed 18% to $6.66 billion, supported by major performers such as NBA 2K, GTA Online, and mobile games from Zynga.
Take-Two also paid down $1.1 billion in short-term debt during the year, strengthening its balance sheet ahead of what it expects to be one of the biggest entertainment launches in history. With Grand Theft Auto V still generating revenue more than a decade after release, expectations for GTA 6 are enormous.
At launch, GTA 6 is confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version has not been announced yet, which follows Rockstar’s usual release pattern for major Grand Theft Auto games. PC players may have to wait longer, although no official timeline has been shared.
Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to be one of the most important video game releases of the decade. The franchise has a massive global audience, and the next entry is likely to dominate gaming conversations throughout 2026. With Take-Two now tying its record-setting financial forecast to the November 19 release date, the launch appears to be more secure than at any point so far.
For now, GTA fans can look ahead with more confidence: Grand Theft Auto VI is officially set to arrive on November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
