Lenovo ThinkBook Plus G7 Auto Twist Price Revealed Ahead of Wider Launch
Lenovo’s eye-catching ThinkBook Plus G7 Auto Twist is moving closer to launch, and its first confirmed price has now appeared through a reservation listing in China. The laptop, best known for its motorized display hinge, is listed at CNY 18,999, which converts to roughly $2,820 or €2,430 based on current exchange rates.
The reservation window runs from August 19 to August 21 and appears to apply specifically to the Chinese market. Lenovo has already confirmed plans for a broader release, but this listing gives the clearest look yet at how the premium convertible-style laptop may be positioned.
The ThinkBook Plus G7 Auto Twist has had a long journey from concept to retail product. Lenovo first introduced the idea in September 2024 as the ThinkBook Auto Twist, showcasing a futuristic laptop design built around a motorized hinge system. It later returned in January 2026 under its final name, ThinkBook Plus G7 Auto Twist, with Lenovo initially targeting a June 2026 launch window.
The main attraction is, of course, the automated hinge. Unlike a traditional laptop display, the ThinkBook Plus G7 Auto Twist is designed to move with motorized assistance, giving it a more flexible and futuristic feel. This makes it one of Lenovo’s most unusual ThinkBook Plus models yet, continuing the brand’s habit of experimenting with bold display concepts.
The configuration listed in China includes an Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor, 32 GB of RAM, and a 1 TB SSD. That places it firmly in premium laptop territory, especially for users who want strong multitasking performance, fast storage, and a unique design. Lenovo is also expected to offer a more affordable Core Ultra 5 325 version in global markets, although that option does not appear in the current Chinese reservation listing.
Other specifications line up with Lenovo’s official product details. The ThinkBook Plus G7 Auto Twist weighs 1.4 kg and measures 313 × 233 × 16.15 mm, making it reasonably portable for a 14-inch device with such an advanced hinge mechanism. The laptop also includes a fingerprint reader built into the power button and an IR camera for Windows Hello facial recognition.
Connectivity is another strong point. The device supports dual-antenna Wi-Fi 7 and includes HDMI 2.1, two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports, and two USB-A ports. That combination should appeal to professionals who still need flexible wired connections without relying heavily on adapters.
The display is a 14-inch OLED panel, which should deliver deep contrast, rich colors, and sharp visuals for work, streaming, and creative tasks. Lenovo has paired the screen with a 75 Wh battery, a sizable capacity for a thin 14-inch laptop and an important detail considering the extra power needs of a motorized hinge system.
While the CNY 18,999 price may seem high, it fits the ThinkBook Plus series, which has often featured experimental designs and premium hardware. The Auto Twist model is not aimed at budget buyers; instead, it targets early adopters, business users, and tech enthusiasts looking for something different from a standard ultrabook.
It is also worth noting that reservation listings can change before full retail availability. Pricing, configurations, and launch timing may still be adjusted as Lenovo prepares the ThinkBook Plus G7 Auto Twist for wider sales.
For now, the listing gives a strong indication of what to expect: a premium 14-inch OLED laptop with Intel Core Ultra hardware, modern connectivity, a lightweight build, and one of the most distinctive motorized hinge designs in the current laptop market.
