Lenovo ThinkPad P16s Gen 5 Debuts With AMD Ryzen AI Pro, Up to 96 GB LPCAMM2 RAM, and Optional Nvidia RTX Pro Graphics
Lenovo has introduced the ThinkPad P16s Gen 5, a new 16-inch mobile workstation aimed at professionals who need strong performance, modern AI-ready processors, and flexible hardware options in a business-focused laptop.
One of the biggest highlights is memory. The ThinkPad P16s Gen 5 is Lenovo’s first AMD-powered laptop to feature LPCAMM2 RAM, a newer memory format designed to offer strong performance while remaining more compact and efficient than traditional laptop memory modules. Buyers can configure the system with 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB, or up to 96 GB of LPCAMM2 memory running at 8,533 MT/s.
The base AMD configuration starts with the Ryzen AI 5 Pro 440 processor, paired with a 1 TB SSD, integrated graphics, and 16 GB of LPCAMM2 RAM. For users who need more computing power, Lenovo also offers higher-end Ryzen AI options, including the Ryzen AI 7 Pro 450 and Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 470.
Choosing the more powerful Ryzen AI chips also unlocks discrete professional graphics options. The ThinkPad P16s Gen 5 can be configured with Nvidia RTX Pro 500 Blackwell, RTX Pro 1000 Blackwell, or RTX Pro 2000 Blackwell laptop GPUs, making it suitable for creative workloads, engineering applications, 3D modeling, data analysis, and other GPU-accelerated tasks.
Storage options are also flexible. Lenovo is offering both PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 5.0 SSD choices, giving buyers room to prioritize either value or faster storage performance. Battery options include 60 Wh and 90 Wh packs, allowing users to choose between a lighter configuration or longer unplugged runtime.
The display lineup includes three screen options, with the premium choice being a 2.8K OLED panel. This top-end display offers a 1800p resolution, up to 500 nits peak brightness, and a variable refresh rate ranging from 30 Hz to 120 Hz. That makes it an appealing option for users who want sharper visuals, smoother motion, and better contrast for design, media, and productivity work.
Pricing currently appears to vary depending on configuration and market. In Australia, AMD-based ThinkPad P16s Gen 5 models start at AUD 2,979, which is roughly $2,129. Intel-based versions begin at AUD 3,529, or around $2,522, while Lenovo’s pre-configured Intel models are listed from AUD 4,249, approximately $3,307.
Lenovo has not yet confirmed pricing or availability details for all international markets. However, with AMD Ryzen AI Pro processors, up to 96 GB of fast LPCAMM2 memory, optional Nvidia RTX Pro Blackwell graphics, and a high-end OLED display option, the ThinkPad P16s Gen 5 is shaping up to be a capable 16-inch workstation for business users and creators who need performance in a professional laptop design.
