Lenovo Unveils Global 14-Inch Ultraportable With Blazing 1,100-Nit OLED Display and Dual SSD Expansion

Lenovo ThinkBook 14x launches globally as an ultra-light 14-inch laptop with OLED display and Intel Core Ultra chips

Lenovo has introduced a new global 14-inch laptop aimed at users who want premium portability without giving up strong performance or a high-end display. The new Lenovo ThinkBook 14x stands out immediately because of its weight: just 990 grams, making it even lighter than the recently announced IdeaPad Slim 5 Ultra, which weighs 1.06 kg.

Despite its slim and lightweight design, the ThinkBook 14x brings a surprisingly capable hardware package. Lenovo is offering the laptop with several Intel Core Ultra processor options, including the Core Ultra 5 226V, Core Ultra 5 228V, Core Ultra 7 256V, Core Ultra 7 258V, and Core Ultra 7 266V. Buyers will also be able to choose between 16 GB and 32 GB of fast LPDDR5X-8533 memory.

One of the more interesting details is the storage configuration. Even with compact dimensions of 312 x 217 x 12.9-15.6 mm, the ThinkBook 14x includes both M.2 2242 and M.2 2280 slots. Only the M.2 2242 slot is expected to be occupied by default, giving users additional flexibility for storage expansion later.

The port selection is also practical for such a thin machine. The Lenovo ThinkBook 14x includes a 3.5 mm combo audio jack, HDMI 2.1 with support for up to 4K at 60 Hz, two USB-A ports rated at 5 Gbps, and two USB-C ports rated at 10 Gbps. This makes it more versatile than many modern ultraportable laptops that rely heavily on USB-C alone.

Battery options include 54.7 Wh and 65 Wh capacities, both supporting 65 W charging. That should make the laptop suitable for work, travel, study, and everyday productivity, especially for users who need a lightweight notebook that can last through long sessions away from a desk.

The display could be one of the biggest highlights. Lenovo will offer the ThinkBook 14x with up to an 1800p OLED panel featuring a 120 Hz variable refresh rate. The screen is rated for 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, 500 nits SDR brightness, and up to 1,100 nits peak HDR brightness. These specifications make it appealing not only for productivity but also for streaming, photo editing, design work, and general media consumption.

Although Lenovo has not yet fully revealed the final global design, current information suggests the ThinkBook 14x may be closely related to the ThinkBook X AI 2026 recently released in China. That model is also around 1 kg, measures as thin as 12.9 mm, and is available with up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor.

Early retail information indicates that the Lenovo ThinkBook 14x may start at around $1,460 in the United States. That expected configuration includes an Intel Core Ultra 5 226V processor, 16 GB of RAM, and the 1800p OLED display.

With its sub-1 kg weight, premium OLED screen, modern Intel Core Ultra processors, expandable storage options, and useful port selection, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14x looks positioned as a strong choice for anyone searching for a lightweight business laptop, travel laptop, or premium 14-inch ultraportable in 2026.
