Lenovo has expanded its premium 16-inch ThinkPad lineup with a powerful new configuration aimed at professionals, creators, and business users who need serious performance in a portable workstation-style laptop.
The ThinkPad T1g Gen 9 is now listed with several Intel Core Ultra processor options, giving buyers a choice between the Core Ultra 7 356H, Core Ultra 7 366H vPro, and Core Ultra 9 386H vPro. These chips are paired with Nvidia’s latest laptop graphics options, making the machine a strong fit for demanding workloads such as 3D design, AI-assisted tasks, video editing, engineering software, and heavy multitasking.
Graphics options include the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU with 8 GB of VRAM and the more powerful GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU with 12 GB of VRAM. However, Lenovo’s configuration structure is specific: the RTX 5060 is only available with the Core Ultra 7 356H, while the RTX 5070 is reserved for models equipped with the Core Ultra 7 366H vPro or Core Ultra 9 386H vPro.
Battery life should also be a key selling point. Lenovo has equipped the ThinkPad T1g Gen 9 with a large 90 Wh battery, supported by 140 W charging. That combination should help users stay productive for longer while still offering fast top-ups when needed.
Storage options are equally flexible. Buyers can choose between 1 TB and 2 TB SSD configurations, with support for PCIe 4.0 or PCIe 5.0 drives depending on the selected model. This gives the laptop strong appeal for users working with large project files, high-resolution media, or demanding professional applications.
Another notable feature is the use of user-replaceable LPCAMM2 memory. Unlike many modern thin-and-light laptops that rely on soldered RAM, the ThinkPad T1g Gen 9 offers more upgrade flexibility. Factory memory options include 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB, allowing customers to choose a setup that fits their workflow while still leaving room for future servicing or upgrades.
Lenovo is also offering three display choices, with the top-end option being a 3.2K Tandem OLED panel. This premium screen delivers up to 1,500 nits of peak brightness and supports a 40 Hz to 120 Hz variable refresh rate. For users who value color, contrast, brightness, and smooth visuals, this display could be one of the standout reasons to choose the higher-end configuration.
The new 16-inch ThinkPad is already appearing in select Asia-Pacific markets. Pricing starts at AUD 5,399 in Australia, HKD 31,730 in Hong Kong, MYR 14,191 in Malaysia, and SGD 4,770 in Singapore, which is roughly around $3,677 depending on exchange rates.
With Intel Core Ultra processors, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 graphics, upgradeable LPCAMM2 RAM, a large battery, fast SSD options, and a high-brightness OLED display, the ThinkPad T1g Gen 9 is positioned as a premium productivity laptop for users who need workstation-level power in a business-class design.
