Ayaneo is preparing to expand its handheld gaming lineup with the Pocket Micro 2, a compact Android-powered gaming device aimed at players who want a smaller, more portable alternative to the company’s larger Windows handhelds.
Ahead of its official launch on June 26, Ayaneo has shared a closer look at the Pocket Micro 2’s design and several key features. The new handheld keeps the familiar compact shape of the original Pocket Micro, rather than following the simpler design approach of the Pocket Micro Classic. This suggests Ayaneo is positioning the Pocket Micro 2 as a more premium mini handheld for retro gaming, Android games, and cloud gaming.
One of the standout design details is the full glass front, which gives the Pocket Micro 2 a cleaner and more modern appearance. The display is surrounded by slim bezels, helping the device look more refined while keeping the overall size small enough for easy travel.
Ayaneo has also confirmed that the Pocket Micro 2 will feature recessed TMR joysticks. This should help protect the sticks when the handheld is carried in a bag or pocket, while also offering improved durability and precision compared to standard joystick designs. For a device built around portability, recessed controls could be an important advantage.
The handheld will also include a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a useful feature for players who prefer wired audio with minimal latency.
