Lenovo has just launched its much-awaited 2024 Legion Y700 tablet, but that’s not all. The tech giant has also introduced a new gaming controller, the Lenovo Legion G7, designed to hold both smartphones and tablets. Intriguingly, the Legion G7 seems to be a rebranded version of the GameSir G8 Galileo.
One of the standout features of this gaming controller is its built-in USB-C plug. Lenovo claims this direct connection ensures zero latency, a vital feature for competitive gamers. The USB-C plug is also movable, making it easier to align your device perfectly.
The Lenovo Legion G7 boasts Hall effect joysticks, which are known for their higher durability and improved precision compared to traditional mechanical joysticks. These joysticks are also less prone to stick drift. Even better, the joystick caps are interchangeable, and the controller comes with three sets for customization.
Another appealing feature is the replaceable faceplate, which attaches to the controller body with magnets. This design allows you to swap it out easily when it shows signs of wear and tear. With ABXY buttons that can be swapped through bundled software, the controller ensures broader compatibility with various games.
Lenovo has designed the Legion G7 to deliver a gaming handheld-grade experience. It features Hall effect analog triggers, making it easier to play PC and console games through streaming services. Additionally, the controller includes two customizable back buttons, giving gamers more control.
For added convenience, the Legion G7 is equipped with a built-in USB-C port for passthrough charging and a 3.5 mm audio jack. In terms of pricing, the Lenovo Legion G7 will be available for pre-order in China at CNY 499, roughly equivalent to $71. While there’s no official word on global availability yet, it’s worth noting that the GameSir G8 Galileo, which shares many of its features, is already available internationally.
Designed to cater to gamers’ needs, the Lenovo Legion G7 combines precision, durability, and customization options, making it a compelling choice for mobile and tablet gaming enthusiasts. Stay tuned for more updates on its global release and availability.
