Leaked Image Suggests Redesign for Upcoming Google Pixel Fold 2

A leaked image has surfaced online giving the first glimpse of Google’s anticipated Pixel Fold 2. The picture suggests a considerable design departure from the original Pixel Fold, showing a device with a slimmer and taller form factor reminiscent of the OnePlus Open, featuring a revised cover display along with an expanded quad-camera setup on the rear.

According to the leaked details, Google’s second foldable smartphone iteration diverges from its squat design and hinge mechanism. The device now presents a more elongated and streamlined physique, bearing a resemblance to the OnePlus Open, including a frame that gracefully curves around the rear panel and the outer display near the hinge.

In contrast to the Pixel Fold’s 5.8-inch and 17.4:9 screen, the Pixel Fold 2 sports a redesigned conventional cover display. The previous model’s triple-lens camera has also been upgraded to include four rear-facing cameras, however, the distinct camera bar from the Google Pixel smartphones is absent, replaced by a standard large squircle housing for the lenses.

The potential specifications for the Pixel Fold 2 indicate upgrades such as a Tensor G4 chipset, 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and a minimum of 256 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. These specs are based on the information shared by trustworthy sources familiar with the company’s plans.

The purported use of the Tensor G4 chipset aligns with expectations that the Pixel Fold 2 may not hit the shelves until the fall of 2024. The launch could potentially coincide with other Google products, including the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel Watch 3.

As for pricing, while the original Pixel Fold retails for quite a premium, the Pixel Fold 2’s price point remains speculative until more information becomes available. Consumers and tech enthusiasts eagerly await official announcements from Google regarding the Pixel Fold 2’s design, specifications, and release details.
