Exciting news is buzzing in the tech world as AMD prepares to launch the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The processor has been intriguingly listed on MaxSun’s AMD Ryzen AM5 CPU support list, stirring up a mix of anticipation and curiosity. Although it’s mistakenly labeled as the Ryzen 9 9800X3D, various leaks, including packaging visuals, have confirmed that it is indeed part of the Ryzen 7 lineup.
Interestingly, this CPU hasn’t been listed by motherboard manufacturers yet, but it has been mentioned by Gigabyte, hinting at its impending arrival. This leak is generating significant interest, especially among those keen on the recently launched AMD X870 motherboards.
According to the MaxSun listing, it seems that the 9800X3D will be the only CPU debuting in the first wave of AMD’s 3D V-Cache series. If others like the 9950X3D or 9900X3D were also launching soon, they would have been spotted on the list as well. Another key highlight is the 9800X3D’s 120W TDP, humorously referred to as ‘power waste,’ and its cache configuration, which remains unchanged at 96MB, combining 32MB of L3 cache with an additional 64MB from the 3D V-Cache.
The most notable upgrade is the new 4.7 GHz base clock speed, a significant 300 MHz increase over its predecessor, the Ryzen 7 9700X. This processor will maintain the same 8-core configuration as the 9700X but with a TDP increasing from 65W to 120W due to its 3D V-Cache technology.
The timing of this information aligns with increasing excitement surrounding AMD’s upcoming releases. Although there was a branding mix-up in the CPU’s listing, the consistent details ensure that this highly anticipated processor is gearing up for its market launch soon. Enthusiasts and tech-savvy individuals are eagerly waiting to see how this powerful processor will perform and what it will bring to the table in the ever-evolving world of tech.
