Leak Suggests Two Upcoming Japan-Inspired Casio G-Shock Watches Are About to Drop

Casio could be preparing two fresh Japan-themed additions to its popular G-Shock DW-5600 lineup, according to a new leak shared by @geesgshock. The images circulating right now aren’t official product photos and appear to be mockups, meaning they’re best viewed as an early glimpse of a possible design direction rather than final, confirmed watches.

The first rumored model is labeled DW-5600KHS-25-1. It’s said to draw inspiration from Yamashita White Rain, a well-known piece associated with Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. In the leaked mockup, the artwork doesn’t take over the whole watch face; instead, it sits subtly behind the digital display as a background layer. The rest of the watch looks like the classic DW-5600 many fans already know: a straightforward black case, black bezel, and matching strap, keeping that iconic square G-Shock vibe intact.

The second watch is listed as DW-5600KHFM-1 and is linked to Under the Mannenbashi Bridge in Fukagawa. Based on the mockup, Casio would be taking the same approach here too, using the artwork primarily as a background element behind the screen. At least in these early images, there are no visible changes to the exterior hardware, button layout, or overall build—suggesting this would be more of a special-edition visual theme than a redesigned model.

Since these are mockups, changes are still very possible. Color tones, artwork placement, and even the final names could look different if and when Casio makes an official announcement. As of now, there’s no confirmed release date, pricing, or official spec sheet.

If these watches do launch, they’re expected to stick with the standard DW-5600 module rather than introducing new tech. That typically means the essentials that made the series a long-running favorite: Shock Resistance, 200-meter water resistance, an EL backlight, alarms, a stopwatch, and a countdown timer. In other words, the upgrade would likely be the Japan-inspired Hokusai visuals rather than any major functional improvements.

Hokusai’s artwork—especially scenes connected to the broader “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji” legacy—has influenced Casio’s Japan-focused G-Shock releases before, so this leak fits the pattern of the brand continuing to blend classic G-Shock durability with traditional Japanese art themes. For now, though, fans should treat this as an exciting rumor until Casio confirms the details publicly.
