JVC Kenwood TH-WD05 Soundbar Brings Dolby Atmos Immersion with Warm Wood-Cone Drivers

JVC Kenwood has introduced the TH-WD05, a compact 3.1-channel Dolby Atmos soundbar that blends elegant design with practical features for everyday home entertainment. Its standout touch is a set of internally developed wood-cone speakers, chosen for their warm, natural tonality with rich bass and expressive highs—an uncommon flourish in this price class.

Under the hood, the TH-WD05 carries three 20-watt drivers and a dedicated 40-watt woofer. A flat center driver focuses dialogue straight toward listeners, and a Clear Voice mode further elevates speech clarity so movies, series, news, and sports are easier to follow. For late-night viewing, Night mode reshapes the sound to remain intelligible at lower volume levels.

Connectivity is straightforward: plug into a TV via HDMI, optical, or RCA. There’s also a wireless transmitter that sends TV audio to any Bluetooth headphones when quiet is a must. Beyond TV, the soundbar doubles as a Bluetooth speaker for your phone, and it supports high-resolution music playback from USB, including WAV and FLAC files.

Designed to fit neatly under smaller screens, the bar measures 697 x 77.5 x 110 mm (27.4 x 3.1 x 4.3 in.) and weighs 3.5 kg (7.7 lbs.). It’s offered in natural wood or brown wood finishes, making it as visually inviting as it is compact.

In Japan, the TH-WD05 is priced at 59,840 yen (approximately $390) and is available through the company’s store. For anyone seeking a streamlined, apartment-friendly Dolby Atmos soundbar that emphasizes clear dialogue, late-night listening, and versatile playback, this model strikes a compelling balance of style, sound quality, and value.
