Introducing the Lenovo ThinkBook 14+ and 16+ Ryzen Edition Laptops for 2024

Lenovo has unveiled its latest offerings in the laptop market with the ThinkBook 14+ and 16+ Ryzen Editions. Both laptops, which are now available in China, feature the robust AMD Ryzen 7 8845H processor, with variations primarily in display size and specifications.

The ThinkBook 14+ and 16+ laptops come equipped with the AMD Ryzen 7 8845H processor and a Radeon 780M integrated GPU. The processor, based on the Zen 4 Hawk Point APU, is capable of delivering a 65-watt performance when in max mode. For memory, users can expect up to 32 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, with entry-level configurations starting at 16 GB.

Storage options are consistent across all variants, with a standard 1 TB provided and an impressive 85 Whr battery capable of reaching a 50% charge in a mere 30 minutes. Both models also include the same quality 1080p webcam and offer connectivity options like USB4, HDMI, Thunderbolt 4, Ethernet, and a microSD card reader.

The differentiating factor between the ThinkBook 14+ and 16+ is the display. The ThinkBook 14+ features a 14.5-inch 2.5K display with a 90 Hz refresh rate for the base model, while higher-end options offer a 3K display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. These premium screens boast high DCI-P3 color space coverage, making them suitable for tasks that involve light content creation.

In contrast, the ThinkBook 16+ offers a larger 16-inch 2.5K screen that also comes with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Additionally, all screen options across both models come with TÜV Low Bluelight and Eyesafe certifications to ensure viewer comfort during extended use.

Pricing for the laptops begins at CNY4999, approximately $694, for the ThinkBook 14+ and CNY5399, around $750, for the ThinkBook 16+. Although global availability hasn’t been announced, the prospect of these models hitting the international market as part of the refreshed ThinkBook series remains a possibility. Potential international variants could arrive as part of the Gen 7 lineup equipped with the Ryzen 7 8845HS processor.

The introduction of the Lenovo ThinkBook 14+ and 16+ Ryzen Edition laptops fortifies Lenovo’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology. With these new additions, users can look forward to vigorous performance, state-of-the-art displays, and modern connectivity features essential for today’s computing needs. Whether these models will see a wider release outside China is uncertain, but there’s clearly an interest in AMD-powered ThinkBooks globally. Keep an eye out for updates on potential international availability for these innovative laptops.
