Get ready for the launch of the Radeon RX 9070 GRE, set to debut soon with ASUS introducing its ATS RX 9070 GRE OC edition. This exclusive GPU, specifically designed for the Chinese market, comes packed with exciting features and performance capabilities.
ASUS has revealed the ATS RX 9070 GRE O12G on its official platform. The card, utilizing the NAVI 48 die, boasts a robust 12 GB of GDDR6 VRAM. Although previous GRE editions like the RX 6750 GRE and RX 7900 GRE were also China-specific, the RX 9070 GRE is poised to be the first from the RDNA 4 lineup to grace the market there.
The likelihood of this card reaching international shores remains uncertain, marking it as a unique offering in AMD’s lineup. The launch is anticipated on May 8th in China, following its listing on retailer JD, as noted by keen observers.
Diving into the technicalities, this GPU features a cut-down NAVI 48 die with 3,072 Stream Processors. It comes factory overclocked to reach speeds of up to 2880 MHz in OC mode, demanding a 750W power supply and powered by dual 8-pin PCI-E connectors. Compared to its RX 9070 counterparts, this card offers a cost-effective choice, positioned between the RX 9060 XT with its 8 GB VRAM and the standard RX 9070 series.
While specifics on its performance remain under wraps, it’s expected to trail slightly behind the RX 9070 but still offers a significant boost over the RX 9060 XT. Priced attractively at 4,499 RMB, with pre-order opportunities reducing it to 4,476 RMB, its value becomes even more appealing after a 20% VAT deduction, rounding it to approximately US$450. This positions it nearly $100 below the official MSRP of the RX 9070, making it an enticing option for tech enthusiasts.
