KEF has announced the release of the LSX II LT Wi-Fi Hi-Fi speakers, a new addition that provides audiophiles with a more budget-friendly alternative without skimping on quality. This new model retains many of the acclaimed features from the popular LSX II series that was first launched in 2022.
The LSX II LT boasts a Uni-Q driver array, ensuring precision in sound with a 19 mm aluminum tweeter nestled within a 115 mm magnesium and aluminum alloy diaphragm. Equipped with class D amplifiers, each speaker delivers a powerful 100W, capable of reaching maximum sound levels of 102 dB when measured from a meter away.
These speakers are designed to cater to the needs of modern audio enthusiasts, offering high-resolution streaming capabilities up to 384 kHz/24-bit and a wide frequency response of 49 Hz to 47 kHz. For seamless connectivity, the LSX II LT supports wireless protocols including Apple AirPlay 2, Chromecast, and Bluetooth 5.0. Users can enjoy their favorite music through various streaming services such as Spotify (Connect), Tidal (Connect), and Amazon Music.
However, the LSX II LT has made some concessions to achieve its lower price point. Unlike its predecessor, the new model is not Roon Ready certified, does not feature a 3.5mm audio jack, and lacks compatibility with MQA audio. Additionally, the LSX II LT requires a physical USB-C connection between the two speakers, a departure from the wireless interconnectivity offered by the previous models.
Aesthetically, the speakers come in an array of colors – Sage Green, Graphite Grey, and Stone White – each with dimensions of 240 x 144 x 180 mm, making them a compact addition to any room.
The KEF LSX II LT is now available for pre-order at $999.99/ €999 for MyKEF members, with plans for a wider release on January 25th. With the original KEF LSX II priced at $1,299.99/€1,399, this new offering presents a significant saving of $300/€400, making Hi-Fi quality more accessible to a wider audience.
