KEF Unveils New Range of Subwoofers Including the High-Performance KC92 Model

KEF has expanded its audio lineup with the introduction of a high-end flagship subwoofer, the KC92. Designed to deliver an acoustic experience on par with a live rock concert, the KC92 offers immense power, exemplified by 1000 watts of output and deep bass that reaches 11 Hz. Alongside the flagship model, KEF has also unveiled four new Kube subwoofers that cater to a variety of budgets and preferences.

The KC92 subwoofer leverages dual 23-centimeter aluminum-paper drivers arranged in a force-canceling arrangement to minimize vibrations and maximize sound quality. The design places the drivers on opposing sides of the unit to counteract each other’s movements, allowing for cleaner bass production. With the inclusion of two 500-watt amplifiers, the subwoofer is capable of a substantial 110 dB volume and can deliver frequencies as low as 11 Hz.

Functionality is also a key feature of the KC92, with a switch on the rear panel that activates an equalizer to fine-tune the acoustics based on the subwoofer’s placement. The model has USB-C connectivity for straightforward firmware updates and can be wirelessly connected to almost any system through the KEF KW1 adapter.

Meanwhile, the Kube series extends KEF’s subwoofer offerings to a wider audience. These models come with a single driver, larger in size in the higher-end variants, up to 38 centimeters, with correspondingly larger enclosures. Similar to the KC92, the Kube subwoofers offer flexible connection options, including line-in, KEF SmartConnect, or wireless via the KEF KW1 adapter. They feature standby mode with auto-power-up upon signal detection and are equipped with an equalizer for placement refinement. The frequency response of the Kube models varies, with the largest delivering bass down to 20 Hz.

Both the KC92 and Kube subwoofers are designed to integrate seamlessly with a variety of audio systems and to enhance the user’s auditory experience, whether for music, home theater, or gaming setups.

The premium KC92 is available in black or white finishes and can be purchased through the manufacturer’s online store for $1999.99. The Kube series, available only in black, includes four differently sized models with prices based on the size and capabilities of each unit.

The expanded KEF subwoofer lineup caters to audiophiles looking for an immersive sound experience, with options ranging from the versatile and powerful KC92 to the more affordable yet high-quality Kube models.
