Intel’s new Wildcat Lake processor lineup is beginning to show what it can do, and early benchmark results point to promising performance for lightweight, affordable laptops. Designed for entry-level and budget-friendly notebooks, the series could become an important option for buyers who want solid everyday performance without paying premium laptop prices.

One of the first chips to appear in benchmark databases is the Intel Core 3 304, an entry-level Wildcat Lake CPU. On paper, it may not sound especially powerful, as it uses a five-core setup with only one performance core. However, early PassMark results suggest that Intel’s new budget processor can deliver surprisingly competitive numbers.

Since CPU Mark is based on an average of multiple performance tests, this near-match suggests that Intel’s entry-level Wildcat Lake chip may offer dependable performance across a range of daily tasks.

These results are especially interesting for users shopping for affordable laptops for web browsing, office work, media streaming, video calls, online learning, and light multitasking. While the Core 3 304 is not designed to compete with high-end laptop processors, its early scores indicate that budget machines using this chip could feel fast and responsive for general use.

It is important to remember that the current Intel Core 3 304 score is based on only a small number of benchmark samples. As more laptops using this processor become available and additional test results appear, the average score may rise or fall. Still, the first numbers are encouraging and suggest Intel may have a capable low-power processor for the next wave of thin and affordable notebooks.
