Intel’s latest unveiling, the Twin Lake series, offers an exciting refresh of the Alder Lake-N processors, reshaping expectations for ultra-power-efficient CPUs. Concentrated primarily on systems that prioritize energy efficiency, these processors exclusively feature Efficient cores, bringing an avant-garde twist to core configurations that promise enhanced performance without escalating power consumption.
The Twin Lake family exemplifies Intel’s commitment to refining existing technologies. This series, comprised of four SKUs—N355, N350, N250, and N150—conveys significant upgrades, particularly in their clock speeds and integrated graphics, though they maintain the architecture of their Alder Lake-N predecessors. These newcomers have quietly slipped into the spotlight, making appearances on platforms like Geekbench, hinting at their imminent arrival in systems that require low power, like mini PCs and possibly some sleek Chromebooks.
Starting with the N150, the lineup showcases a deliberate balance between performance and energy efficiency. Sporting a 6W TDP, it operates at a base/boost speed of 2.9/3.6 GHz, alongside a dedicated iGPU with enhanced frequency at 1 GHz, a notable leap from the N100. The N250 takes it up a notch with an improved iGPU speed of 1.25 GHz, complementing a slight turbo clock augmentation to excel in performance—all without altering TDP or core count.
