Intel is creating quite a buzz with plans to enhance its Battlemage discrete GPU lineup. Recent developments indicate that Intel has introduced three new Battlemage PCI IDs in their Linux kernel driver, potentially signaling the arrival of new dGPU models.
The initial release of Intel’s Battlemage dGPUs was rather selective, featuring only the Battlemage B570 and B580. Despite the limited launch, these models, particularly the Arc B580, managed to captivate the market, with stocks reportedly running out shortly after their debut. This success appears to have motivated Intel to introduce more variants, with fresh PCI IDs suggesting upcoming models.
Although the specifics of these variants remain under wraps, Intel’s commitment to expanding the Battlemage dGPU line was emphasized during the recent CES 2025 keynote. This move could reflect a strategic pivot, introducing more advanced models that cater to market demands. With the current flagship Battlemage dGPU boasting 12 GB of VRAM and mid-tier specs, there’s speculation that Intel may be preparing to unveil a more robust and potent version.
Another intriguing theory is that these new entries could be part of Intel’s “ARC PRO” series. This notion gains traction following discussions about an upcoming 24 GB Battlemage GPU, tailored for AI and productivity. The introduction of these PCI IDs might indeed correlate with new models in the ARC PRO range, as Intel seems confident with its Xe2 architecture’s performance in the desktop GPU arena.
Given the positive reception so far, Intel is likely keen on expanding its Battlemage GPU lineup further.
