Intel Arc B580 Battlemage GPU Surpasses RX 7600 XT and Arc A580 with Impressive Benchmark Gains

After months of anticipation and a wave of tantalizing leaks, Intel has finally pulled back the curtain on their latest generation of Arc Battlemage GPUs: the Arc B580 and Arc B570. Making its grand debut on December 13, the Arc B580 is set to arrive in stores with an attractive price of just $249. Meanwhile, its sibling, the Arc B570, is slated for a 2025 release.

With its affordable price tag, the Arc B580 is positioned as a compelling option for budget-conscious gamers. Intel’s claims suggest this GPU outshines both its predecessor, the Arc A750, and the formidable RTX 4060. Packed with 12 GB of RAM, the Arc B580 is already ahead of the game, as modern AAA titles increasingly demand more than the now-meager 8 GB VRAM.

However, while Intel’s performance assurances are exciting, it’s always wise to approach them with cautious optimism. As the release draws nearer, benchmark results have started to emerge, offering a sneak peek at the Arc B580’s capabilities. An intriguing leak has already shed some light on its synthetic performance.

According to figures from Geekbench, the Arc B580 impresses with OpenCL and Vulkan scores of 98,343 and 103,445, respectively. This marks a notable improvement over the Arc A580, with a 9% boost in OpenCL tests and a significant 30% leap in Vulkan performances.

Moreover, the Arc B580 appears to have a competitive edge over rival graphics cards like the RX 7600 and RX 7600 XT. In OpenCL tests, it surpasses the RX 7600 by 20% and the RX 7600 XT by 17%. The Vulkan tests illustrate a similar dominance with around an 18.5% lead over the RX 7600 XT, and a 14% advantage against the RX 7600.

Despite a slight 3% lag behind the RTX 4060 in OpenCL benchmarks, the Arc B580 shines in the Vulkan tests, showcasing a 6.5% speed advantage over the RTX 4060.

As these preliminary numbers suggest, the Intel Arc B580 holds a lot of promise and represents a considerable step up from the Arc A580. Nevertheless, synthetic benchmarks are just the tip of the iceberg. The true measure of the Arc B580’s prowess will come from hands-on experience and reviews, which are eagerly anticipated in the coming days.

In the world of tech, there’s always room for surprises, and Intel’s Arc B580 could be the game-changer budget gamers have been waiting for. Keep an eye out for more updates as the countdown to its release continues!
