Intel is gearing up for a significant leap in their integrated graphics capabilities with the introduction of the Arc 140T, an iGPU likely building on their new Xe-LPG+ architecture. Recent benchmarks of this chip have surfaced via GFXBench, hinting at exciting developments for those who rely on integrated graphics solutions.
The Intel Arc 140T iGPU has been benchmarked against its predecessor, the Arc 140V. Both are notable for being part of Intel’s Lunar Lake SoCs, but the Arrow Lake chips are set to advance this further with the Xe-LPG+ architecture, an upgraded spin on the original Xe-LPG “Alchemist” design found in Meteor Lake CPUs.
The GFXBench results show the Arc 140T scoring impressively higher in various tests compared to the Arc 140V. Although one should approach these benchmarks cautiously—as GFXBench isn’t the gold standard for GPU performance comparisons—they do suggest a promising leap in capability.
This upcoming iGPU features eight Xe Cores in most models, with the entry-level maintaining seven. Notably, it brings 16 GB of video memory from the system, operating at a clock speed of 2250 MHz, indicating either the Intel Core Ultra 5 255H or the Core Ultra 5 235H as its home. More robust models, the Core Ultra 7 265H and Core Ultra 9 285H, are expected to boast the same Arc 140T GPU but with superior clock speeds, all grounded on the Alchemist Refresh architecture complete with XMX support.
The Intel Core Ultra 200H series is slated to debut in the first quarter of 2025. At the same time, we anticipate the launch of the high-performance Core Ultra 200HX chips, which promise an even more potent core configuration than their 200H counterparts.
This leap forward in integrated graphics technology could make a significant impact on users who need robust performance without a dedicated GPU, marking an exciting horizon in Intel’s graphics roadmap.
