The company revealed that when it suspects an account belongs to a minor, regardless of the listed birth date indicating otherwise, it will automatically convert the account into a restricted Teen Account.
Teen Accounts, which were introduced last year, provide a tailored and safer experience for younger users. These accounts come equipped with features that automatically restrict who can make contact with the user and limit the type of content they can access. For users under 16, parental approval is required to modify any of these settings, ensuring an added layer of oversight.
