Insta360 and Bambu Lab Launch Luna Ultra 3D Design Challenge With 40 Prizes for Creators
Insta360 has teamed up with Bambu Lab to launch the Luna Ultra Design Challenge, inviting creators, makers, and camera enthusiasts to design 3D-printed accessories, custom mods, concept drawings, and creative ideas for the Luna Ultra camera.
The challenge runs from July 10 to August 9, 2026, giving participants nearly a month to submit their most useful, stylish, or imaginative designs. To help creators get started, Insta360 has made official 3D model files for the Luna Ultra available through MakerWorld, making it easier to build add-ons that fit the camera accurately.
The Luna Ultra is Insta360’s latest 3-axis gimbal camera, designed for creators who want high-end video quality in a compact and flexible setup. It features a 1-inch 8K main sensor, AI-powered focusing, a detachable 2-inch OLED monitor, and 10-bit I-Log output for more professional color grading. The camera also supports up to 12x zoom for capturing distant subjects and can shoot massive 200 MP panoramic photos.
The design challenge is split into two main categories.
The Model Design Challenge focuses on practical and creative 3D-printed accessories. Participants can submit add-ons that improve the Luna Ultra’s usability, protection, mounting options, portability, or overall shooting experience. Stylish mods and visual customizations are also welcome, giving designers room to make the camera stand out.
The Social Content Challenge is aimed at creators who want to share ideas through text, photos, or videos. This track includes camera gear concepts, mod ideas, design sketches, and other creative submissions related to the Luna Ultra ecosystem.
With support for MakerWorld and Bambu 3D printers, Luna Ultra users can easily print compatible designs using the Bambu Handy app. This opens the door for a growing collection of community-made accessories, allowing camera owners to personalize their setup without waiting for traditional third-party products.
In total, Insta360 and Bambu Lab will award 40 prizes to winning participants. Top prizes include a Luna Ultra camera bundled with a Bambu 3D printer. Some grand prize winners may also have the chance to see their ideas turned into official accessories, giving designers a rare opportunity to move from concept to real-world product.
