IKEA has added a fun new audio gadget to its European lineup: the Grejsimojs Portable Bluetooth Speaker in a playful mouse-inspired design. Part of the Grejsimojs range aimed at kids (and anyone who enjoys cheerful, character-like products), this speaker joins other recent releases in the series, including a dog-shaped LED table lamp.
Despite its cute look, the Grejsimojs Bluetooth speaker is designed to cover the basics you’d want from a small portable speaker for everyday listening. Inside, it features a 1.6-inch full-range driver with a stated frequency range of 150 to 19,000 Hz. IKEA rates the maximum sound pressure level at 73.8 dB, which should be suitable for personal listening, children’s rooms, and casual background music in areas like the kitchen.
You can connect the speaker to a phone, tablet, or laptop over Bluetooth to play music, podcasts, or audiobooks. There’s also a multi-speaker mode, allowing you to pair more than one speaker to make your setup louder. However, it’s worth noting a couple of limitations: there’s no stereo mode, and it doesn’t support Spotify Tap—features that appear on some other IKEA speakers.
Battery life is another highlight. IKEA estimates around 24 hours of playtime from the built-in battery, making it a handy option for travel, bedrooms, or moving from room to room without constantly recharging. When it is time to top up, charging is handled via USB-C. Keep in mind that the USB-C cable and power adapter are not included, so you’ll need to use your own.
Design-wise, IKEA describes it as a “musical mouse,” and it leans fully into that theme. The speaker has an IP44 rating, offering protection against splashes of water, which can be reassuring for family spaces. It comes in a purple plastic casing with four legs and two ears, with audio coming from the mouse’s face. A loop on the back doubles as a carry handle and is styled as a tail. The compact speaker measures 8.6 x 13.0 x 9.0 cm (about 3.4 x 5.2 x 3.5 inches), making it easy to fit on a shelf, bedside table, or countertop.
The IKEA Grejsimojs Portable Bluetooth Speaker is now available in several European countries, including the UK, Germany, and Sweden, priced at £12.00, €14.99, or SEK 179. For shoppers outside these markets, IKEA hasn’t confirmed whether (or when) the speaker will launch in additional regions.
