IKEA looks set to expand its smart lighting lineup with the Varmblixt LED table/wall lamp (30 cm), a new version of the popular Varmblixt design that blends soft white glass styling with connected smart home features.
The lamp was first revealed earlier in January 2026 alongside a matching Varmblixt smart pendant light, with IKEA originally pointing to an April 2026 release window for the new products. Now, a fresh product listing spotted on IKEA’s Sweden website suggests the smart Varmblixt table/wall lamp could arrive sooner than expected. While the item is currently shown as out of stock both online and in stores, the fact that the product page is already live has fueled speculation that the launch may be closer than the initial April timeline.
The Swedish listing also provides a clear look at pricing and key specs. In Sweden, the Varmblixt smart LED table/wall lamp is set to retail for SEK 699. Interestingly, that matches the recommended price of the original (non-smart) Varmblixt lamp. If IKEA keeps pricing consistent across regions, the smart model could land around $99.99 in the US, about £55.00 in the UK, and roughly €59.99 in the EU, though official local pricing may still vary.
Size-wise, the lamp measures 30 x 12 cm (11.8 x 4.7 inches). It delivers up to 180 lumens of brightness and is rated to run for approximately 25,000 hours, making it more of a mood and accent light than a high-output task lamp—ideal for cozy corners, hallways, bedside use, or adding a soft glow to a shelf or wall.
Where the new Varmblixt really stands out is its smart lighting features. IKEA has said the lamp will support both white and colored lighting effects, including smooth transitions through 12 preselected shades for an ambient, shifting look. With a Dirigera hub, users can control the lamp remotely in the IKEA Home smart app—adjusting colors, switching multiple lamps on or off at the same time, and setting schedules for automated routines.
For buyers who don’t use the Dirigera hub, Matter support is expected to widen compatibility, allowing the lamp to work with other smart home platforms and apps such as Google Home or Apple Home.
For now, IKEA hasn’t confirmed the exact release date for Sweden or other markets. But with a product page already appearing in Sweden, the smart Varmblixt LED table/wall lamp may be nearing its official rollout sooner than previously announced.
