HyperX is expanding its gaming accessory lineup with two releases aimed at players who want better performance without jumping into ultra-premium pricing: a new Xbox-licensed controller called the HyperX Clutch Talon, and a refreshed Cloud Stinger 3 headset family that adds modern wireless convenience. Alongside the hardware, HyperX is also rolling out improvements to its NGENUITY software to make customization simpler and more approachable.
HyperX Clutch Talon: an Xbox-licensed controller built for durability and flexibility
Designed with the familiar feel of an Xbox Series-style controller, the HyperX Clutch Talon targets players who want more precision and longer-lasting controls. It uses Hall effect joysticks and Hall effect triggers, a notable upgrade over standard designs because it can improve accuracy and help reduce long-term wear. The triggers also include trigger locks, which can be useful in faster-paced games where quicker actuation matters.
Connectivity is built for flexibility. The Clutch Talon supports both 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth, making it a strong fit for console-style play and mobile gaming sessions alike. HyperX rates the 1,000 mAh battery for up to 30 hours of use, and charging is handled over USB-C. There’s also a 3.5mm audio jack for players who prefer a wired headset connection directly to the controller.
Where the Clutch Talon tries to stand out is customization right in the box. HyperX includes multiple swappable parts, letting you tailor the controller’s feel to your playstyle. In the package, you get an alternate trigger pair, an alternate stick pair, a paddle pair, and two different D-pad options. A mobile clip is included too, making it easier to mount your phone for handheld-style play. HyperX also includes a carrying case, which is a nice bonus for travel or storage. A swappable faceplate appears to be part of the design, though it isn’t included in the bundle.
Cloud Stinger 3 headsets: wired and wireless options for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC
HyperX is also updating its budget-friendly headset range with the Cloud Stinger 3 lineup, offering both wired and wireless models depending on your setup. The wireless Cloud Stinger 3 uses 50mm drivers and lists a frequency response of 10 Hz to 50 kHz. Battery life is a big highlight here, with HyperX claiming up to 80 hours on a charge, with a full recharge taking about four hours.
The wired Cloud Stinger 3 also features 50mm drivers, though the product listing reportedly includes a conflicting 30mm specification that appears to be a typo. Build quality gets a boost across the line with a stainless-steel frame, plus leather and memory foam ear cushions designed for longer sessions. For chat and streaming, the headset uses an electret condenser microphone that flips up to mute, keeping controls quick and straightforward.
Improved HyperX NGENUITY software for easier customization
HyperX is also refining its NGENUITY software with what it describes as a cleaner, more intuitive interface. The goal is to make it easier to personalize and customize compatible HyperX peripherals without digging through complicated menus. Audio customization is powered by the HEAR360 engine, which HyperX is using to support tuning features for its audio devices.
Price and availability
The HyperX Clutch Talon controller is priced at $160 and is expected to launch this summer through HyperX and select retailers, though a specific release date hasn’t been announced.
The HyperX Cloud Stinger 3 headsets are available now in black and white. Pricing starts at $50 for the wired version, while the wireless model comes in at $100.
