Huawei is pushing a fresh software update to the Watch Ultimate 2, and it brings a mix of health-focused tools and fitness upgrades that make the premium smartwatch feel more capable day to day. The rollout has started in China, following the device’s earlier jump to HarmonyOS 6 in December 2025.
The new release, HarmonyOS 6.0.0.209, introduces a notable addition aimed at heart wellness: a coronary heart disease risk research project. Users in China can opt in to the study, and the watch will collect data over roughly three to four days before generating a risk assessment. Huawei hasn’t detailed exactly how the scoring is calculated, so it’s best viewed as an early-awareness tool rather than a diagnosis. The update notes also remind users to consult a medical professional if the watch flags potential concerns.
Beyond heart health, the update expands accessibility and workout tracking. A new wheelchair activity tracking mode is now included, with customization options found under Activity Tracking > Triple Ring Settings. This should help users better tailor daily movement goals and tracking behaviors to match wheelchair-based activity.
Outdoor sports tracking is also getting attention. For Outdoor Cycling, the Watch Ultimate 2 adds a real-time simulated cadence metric, along with 3D distance compensation prompts and an option to choose your bike type—small details that can make ride data feel more realistic and useful. Skiing mode has been enhanced as well, with additional measurements such as maximum and average speeds, slope gradient, and cumulative descent, making it easier to review performance after time on the slopes.
There’s also a convenience upgrade for Android users: the watch can now remotely control the smartphone camera, which can be handy for group shots or tripod photos without needing a timer.
For now, HarmonyOS 6.0.0.209 is only confirmed for Watch Ultimate 2 owners in China. Huawei hasn’t shared a timeline for when the same update will reach users in other regions.
