HP ZBook Ultra G3a 16-Inch Workstation Spotted With AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 and 96GB RAM
HP appears to be preparing a major expansion of its ZBook Ultra workstation lineup, and the biggest clue has just surfaced through a benchmark listing. An unannounced HP ZBook Ultra G3a has appeared with a 16-inch form factor, suggesting that HP may soon offer its high-performance mobile workstation series in a larger chassis for the first time.
Until now, the ZBook Ultra family has been limited to a 14-inch model. A 16-inch version would be a significant move for HP, especially for professionals who need more screen space, stronger cooling, and longer battery life without giving up portability.
The listed HP ZBook Ultra G3a is equipped with AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495, one of AMD’s latest flagship mobile processors aimed at premium workstations and AI-focused laptops. The benchmarked system also includes 96GB of memory, pointing to a configuration built for demanding workloads such as 3D rendering, software development, video editing, engineering applications, and AI-assisted productivity.
According to the Geekbench entry, the machine achieved a single-core score of 2,593 and a multi-core score of 26,816. Those numbers indicate serious CPU performance, especially for a mobile workstation designed to balance power and portability.
The move to a 16-inch chassis could be just as important as the processor upgrade. A larger body gives HP more room for improved thermal hardware, which is especially useful for the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495. This chip can operate across a configurable power range of 45W to 120W, meaning performance can vary significantly depending on cooling capacity and system design.
A bigger ZBook Ultra could also allow HP to include a larger battery, making the laptop more practical for professionals who work away from a desk. The current 14-inch ZBook Ultra G1a supports up to 128GB of memory, but the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 platform can support up to 192GB in higher-end configurations. If HP takes full advantage of that ceiling, the 16-inch ZBook Ultra G3a could become one of the most capable mobile workstations in its class.
This would also place HP in a stronger position against established 16-inch workstation rivals from Lenovo and Dell. Those systems often rely on discrete GPUs for heavy graphics and compute tasks, while AMD’s latest high-end mobile platform is designed to deliver powerful integrated performance alongside advanced AI capabilities.
Neither HP nor AMD has officially announced the ZBook Ultra G3a yet. However, the appearance of a tested unit suggests that development is already well underway. With AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 now officially listed by AMD, HP may be preparing to reveal the new workstation soon.
