HP Unveils Global 16-Inch Powerhouse With Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 and Up to 192GB RAM

HP ZBook Ultra G3a 16 launches with AMD Ryzen AI power, up to 192GB RAM, and workstation-level performance

HP has officially started selling the ZBook Ultra G3a 16 in the United States and select European markets, positioning it as a serious mobile workstation for professionals who need desktop-class performance in a portable 16-inch laptop.

Built around AMD’s new Gorgon Halo platform, the HP ZBook Ultra G3a is designed for demanding workloads such as local AI model processing, AI agent development, 3D modeling, data science, advanced content creation, and engineering tasks. With high-end Ryzen AI Max Pro processors, massive memory options, and premium display choices, this laptop is clearly aimed at users who need more than a standard productivity machine.

The entry-level HP ZBook Ultra G3a 16 starts at $3,149 in the US. That base model includes an AMD Ryzen AI Max Pro 480 processor, 16GB of memory, and 512GB of storage. For users who need more performance, HP also offers configurations with the Ryzen AI Max Pro 490 and the flagship Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495.

The most powerful chip available, the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495, features 16 Zen 5 CPU cores and 32 threads. It also delivers up to 132 TOPS of AI performance, making it suitable for running AI workloads locally without relying entirely on cloud services. This is one of the key selling points of the ZBook Ultra G3a, especially for professionals working with sensitive data, machine learning tools, or offline AI workflows.

Graphics performance is handled by the Radeon 8065S integrated GPU, which includes 40 RDNA 3.5 compute units. On configurations with up to 192GB of RAM, the GPU can use as much as 160GB as shared video memory, giving the system a significant advantage in graphics-heavy and AI-focused workloads.

Memory options are one of the standout features of this mobile workstation. In the US, one of the highest-end configurations costs $7,999 and includes the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495, 128GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. In the UK and Germany, buyers can configure the same processor with up to 192GB of RAM, although these premium builds push pricing much higher. The 192GB model reaches £9,642.06 in the UK and €16,625.53 in Germany.

The display options also vary by region. The base model comes with a 16-inch IPS panel featuring a 1920 x 1200 resolution, 400 nits of brightness, and 100% sRGB color coverage. In the US, HP offers an upgraded 2560 x 1600 display with 100% DCI-P3 color coverage and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. European buyers can access an even sharper display option with up to 3840 x 2400 resolution and 500 nits of brightness.

Connectivity is well covered for professional use. The HP ZBook Ultra G3a 16 includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, 10Gbps USB-C, USB-A, HDMI 2.1, an SD card reader, and a headphone jack. This port selection makes it easier to connect external monitors, fast storage drives, creative accessories, docking stations, and other workstation peripherals without relying heavily on adapters.

All configurations include a large 96Wh battery, with HP claiming all-day battery life. For a system built with workstation-grade hardware, that battery capacity should be especially useful for professionals who need strong performance while traveling, working on location, or moving between office spaces.

The HP ZBook Ultra G3a 16 is now available in the US, UK, and Germany. Pricing starts at $3,149 in the United States, £4,383.11 in the UK for a model with 32GB of RAM, and €6,166.62 in Germany for a configuration with 128GB of RAM.

With its Ryzen AI Max Pro processor options, high memory ceiling, powerful integrated Radeon graphics, premium display choices, and broad connectivity, the HP ZBook Ultra G3a 16 is shaping up to be one of HP’s most capable mobile workstations for AI development, creative production, and technical computing.
