Signs are stacking up that Intel’s Arrow Lake Refresh desktop lineup is about to land, and new evidence suggests the launch is right around the corner. With Core Ultra 200 Refresh processors expected to arrive soon, PC makers are already lining up ready-to-ship systems built around these chips—an easy way to spot what’s coming before the official announcement.
One of the most telling sightings is a new prebuilt gaming tower from HP. A listing for the OMEN 35L Gaming Desktop (GT18-0007a) shows it configured with an Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, a not-yet-announced CPU that’s widely believed to be part of the Arrow Lake Refresh family. The build was spotted by well-known hardware tracker momomo_us, and it adds more weight to reports that Intel will unveil these refreshed desktop processors in mid-March—meaning we could be just days away.
The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus is positioned as the successor to the Core Ultra 7 265K, and the specs point to a notable upgrade. Reports indicate it adds four additional Efficient cores, bringing it to a 24-core, 24-thread configuration. HP’s product information also lists a turbo boost clock of up to 5.4 GHz, suggesting Intel is pushing higher frequencies as part of the refresh strategy.
On paper, the 24-core design should translate into stronger multi-threaded performance, and a recent benchmark leak backs that up, showing the new chip performing close to 10% faster than its predecessor in at least one test. The listing also mentions 36 MB of L3 cache and 13 TOPs of AI performance via the NPU, continuing Intel’s focus on AI capabilities alongside traditional CPU speed.
HP’s OMEN 35L configuration pairs the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070, aiming squarely at high-end gaming and creator workloads. The version shown includes 16 GB of memory and a 1 TB SSD, with a listed price of $5,499. That price is very likely a placeholder and could change significantly closer to release, as these early listings often appear before final retail pricing is set.
As for timing, one report claims reviews for Intel’s Core Ultra 200 Refresh desktop CPUs could go live around March 23, roughly a week after the processors hit retail shelves. The refreshed lineup is expected to include three models: Core Ultra 5 250K Plus, Core Ultra 5 250KF Plus, and Core Ultra 7 270K Plus. Meanwhile, the rumored Core Ultra 9 290K Plus has reportedly been cancelled, which may mean Intel is focusing the refresh on a narrower range of SKUs this time around.
With OEM listings now surfacing and specs becoming clearer, Intel’s Arrow Lake Refresh launch looks increasingly imminent—and prebuilt gaming desktops like the OMEN 35L may be among the first places these new Core Ultra “Plus” processors show up.
