Honor’s New Ultra-Premium Foldable Goes Global—But Not for Everyone

Honor has officially unveiled the Magic V6, becoming the first brand to showcase a foldable smartphone powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The announcement also included the new MagicPad 4, as Honor and Xiaomi continue to kick off the wave of Mobile World Congress 2026 reveals earlier than usual.

What’s surprising is how Honor is handling the rollout. Even though the Magic V6 was presented on the global stage in Barcelona before its China debut, that doesn’t mean buyers outside China will get it anytime soon. Honor has confirmed the Magic V6 will go on sale in China later this month, positioning it to capture attention in the premium foldable market months before some of the biggest competitors arrive.

That timing matters. Major next-generation foldables from rivals aren’t expected until summer or early autumn, creating a temporary gap for anyone shopping for an ultra-premium foldable phone right now. Honor looks ready to take advantage of that window in its home market, especially as other foldable makers prepare their own launches in the near term.

For international customers, however, the news is far less exciting. Honor has stated that global availability for the Magic V6 won’t happen until the second half of the year, with no worldwide release planned before July. In other words, the phone is being shown off months ahead of when most regions will actually be able to buy it.

Because the global launch is being pushed back, Honor also hasn’t shared international pricing yet. That leaves potential buyers waiting not only for the release date, but also for clear information on how the Magic V6 will be priced across different countries and whether it will undercut or exceed other flagship foldables.

In short, the Honor Magic V6 is shaping up to be one of the most notable foldable phones of 2026 thanks to its next-gen Snapdragon chipset and early reveal, but its limited near-term availability outside China is a disappointment for anyone hoping to buy it globally in the first half of the year.
