Honor X70 Pro Max Launches With Huge 8,560mAh Battery, 120Hz OLED Display, and Rugged Protection
Honor has quietly introduced the Honor X70 Pro Max in China, arriving just one week before the expected launch of the Honor X80 Pro Max. While the timing is unusual, the new smartphone brings several standout features, including a massive battery, a bright OLED screen, durable protection ratings, and a design built for outdoor connectivity.
The Honor X70 Pro Max features a 6.79-inch OLED display with a 2640 × 1200 resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. One of its biggest highlights is its peak brightness of up to 6,000 nits, which should make the screen easier to view under strong sunlight. For users who spend a lot of time outdoors, this could be one of the phone’s most practical upgrades.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset. It is paired with 8GB of RAM and comes in two storage options: 256GB and 512GB. This setup positions the phone as a capable mid-range device for everyday multitasking, media streaming, gaming, and general app use.
On the back, the Honor X70 Pro Max carries a large circular camera module. The main camera is a 50MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, joined by a second rear camera that has not been fully detailed. For selfies and video calls, the phone includes an 8MP front-facing camera placed inside a hole-punch cutout on the display.
Durability is another major selling point. The Honor X70 Pro Max comes with triple IP ratings: IP69K, IP68, and IP66. This means the phone is designed to handle dust, water exposure, and more demanding conditions than many standard smartphones. Honor has also added a voice-activated feature that can help eject water and dust from the device.
The phone is also built to survive drops from up to 2.5 meters, making it a strong option for users who want a more rugged smartphone without moving to a fully industrial-looking device.
Battery life should be one of the biggest reasons buyers consider the Honor X70 Pro Max. The smartphone packs a massive 8,560mAh battery, far larger than what is typically found in most modern smartphones. It also supports 90W fast wired charging, allowing users to quickly top up the large battery when needed.
Other features include stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, an IR blaster, and an advanced Wi-Fi antenna design aimed at keeping the connection stable outdoors. This focus on stronger connectivity could appeal to travelers, commuters, and users who rely heavily on mobile internet and wireless performance.
The Honor X70 Pro Max runs MagicOS 10.0 based on Android 16 out of the box, giving users access to Honor’s latest software experience.
The phone is available in four color options: Black, Green, Gold, and Purple. Pricing in China starts at ¥1,999, which is approximately $295 or €254, for the 256GB version. The 512GB model is priced at ¥2,399, around $354 or €305.
With its enormous battery, ultra-bright OLED display, rugged protection, and competitive price, the Honor X70 Pro Max looks like a strong mid-range smartphone for users who value durability and long-lasting performance. Its launch just days before the Honor X80 Pro Max adds an interesting twist, but the X70 Pro Max still stands out as a feature-packed device in its own right.
