Hollyland Astra P1 4K PTZ Camera Launches Globally With AI Tracking and 30x Optical Zoom
Hollyland has introduced the Astra P1, a new 4K automatic pan-tilt-zoom camera built for professional live streaming, recording, and broadcast production. Designed for venues such as auditoriums, lecture halls, houses of worship, concert spaces, studios, and large event stages, the Astra P1 focuses on high-resolution video capture, intelligent subject tracking, and flexible workflow integration.
The Hollyland Astra P1 features a 1/1.8-inch CMOS sensor that can operate in lighting conditions as low as 0.5 lux. This makes it suitable for challenging production environments where lighting may be inconsistent, such as stage performances, conferences, and live events. The camera supports video recording and output at up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, allowing creators and production teams to capture smooth, detailed footage with professional clarity.
One of the biggest highlights of the Astra P1 is its zoom capability. The camera offers 30x optical zoom, making it easier to capture close-up shots from a distance without sacrificing image quality. It also includes 16x digital zoom for added reach when needed. This combination gives operators more flexibility when filming speakers, performers, panel discussions, or events in larger spaces.
Hollyland has also equipped the Astra P1 with AI-powered auto-tracking features to reduce the need for constant manual camera control. The camera includes two main tracking modes.
The first is presenter tracking, which uses human-based recognition to follow a speaker. It can detect movement and posture, helping the camera keep the subject in frame while separating them from the background. This is especially useful for lectures, presentations, seminars, and live broadcasts where a speaker may move naturally across a stage.
The second mode is zone tracking. With this feature, users can define up to four key areas within a venue. The camera can then automatically transition between these zones as the subject moves, creating smoother and more professional-looking footage without requiring a dedicated camera operator for every movement.
For broadcast and live production workflows, the Astra P1 comes with built-in NDI HX3 support. Hollyland says this integration is designed to work without backend login requirements, serial number entry, or additional hidden fees. The camera is also compatible with common professional production setups, including vMix and broadcast systems, making it a practical option for teams that rely on network-based video production.
Connectivity is another strong point of the Astra P1. The camera includes a wide range of ports for different production needs, including a 3.5 mm Line In, 3.5 mm Line Out, RS485, RS232, RJ45, USB-A 2.0, USB-B 3.0, 3G-SDI, HDMI 2.0, and a DC 12 V power input. This selection allows the camera to fit into various professional environments, from traditional AV setups to modern IP-based broadcast workflows.
The Astra P1 supports a 170-degree pan range and a 90-degree tilt range, giving it the flexibility to cover wide spaces and follow movement across a stage or room. Users can also control pan, tilt, zoom, and additional settings remotely through Hollyland’s web control interface, making it easier to manage the camera from a production desk or control room.
In terms of size, the Hollyland Astra P1 measures 169 x 188 x 226 mm, or approximately 6.6 x 7.4 x 8.8 inches. It weighs around 2.3 kg, or about 5 lbs, making it compact enough for installation in fixed venues while still offering professional-grade camera performance.
The Hollyland Astra P1 is available in a black color option and carries a suggested retail price of $1,999. With 4K/60 fps video, AI auto-tracking, 30x optical zoom, built-in NDI HX3 support, and extensive connectivity, the Astra P1 is positioned as a powerful PTZ camera for live streaming, event recording, education, worship services, corporate production, and broadcast environments.
