Hitman’s Original Trilogy Is Getting a Sleek Remaster, but One Major Platform Is Left Out

Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered Announced for 2027, but Nintendo Switch Is Missing for Now

The original Hitman games are getting a modern revival. Saber Interactive has officially announced Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered, a new remastered collection that brings back the first three entries in the stealth-action series with upgraded visuals and modern presentation.

Set to launch in 2027, the collection will include Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, and Hitman: Contracts. These three games helped define Agent 47’s identity as one of gaming’s most iconic assassins, blending stealth, strategy, disguises, and creative mission design into a formula that still influences the series today.

The remaster is being developed by Saber Interactive in collaboration with IO Interactive, the original studio behind the Hitman franchise. Saber Interactive has become known for restoring classic games for modern hardware, and this new project looks set to follow that same approach.

According to the announcement, Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered will feature enhanced character models, improved environments, and high-resolution textures. Players will also be able to switch between the updated graphics and the original visuals, giving longtime fans a chance to experience the games with a nostalgic look or a refreshed modern style.

A photo mode is also planned, allowing players to capture Agent 47 in action across the trilogy’s memorable locations. While the original Hitman games were known more for methodical gameplay than cinematic presentation, the visual upgrades could make these classic missions feel much more atmospheric for today’s players.

Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered is currently confirmed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. However, one major platform is noticeably absent from the announcement: Nintendo Switch.

That omission may surprise some players, especially since the Nintendo Switch and the newer Switch hardware should be capable of running remastered versions of these older titles. Saber Interactive’s previous classic remaster projects have also appeared on Nintendo platforms, which leaves the door open for a possible Switch release later.

For now, though, no Nintendo version has been officially confirmed. It is also possible that a mobile release could arrive at some point in the future, especially since other classic remastered collections have eventually made their way to smartphones and tablets after launching on consoles and PC.

Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered could be a major release for fans of stealth games, especially those who want to revisit the roots of Agent 47’s story. The original trilogy delivered tense missions, open-ended assassination methods, and a darker tone that helped shape the future of the franchise.

With improved graphics, modern features, and the option to switch back to the original look, the remastered collection aims to appeal to both longtime fans and newcomers curious about where the Hitman series began.

Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered is scheduled for release in 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. More details, including gameplay footage and any potential additional platform announcements, are expected closer to launch.
