H3C is taking direct aim at premium detachables with the new MegaBook, a sleek 2-in-1 powered by Intel’s latest Lunar Lake chips and a standout 14-inch OLED display. On paper, it’s a compelling Surface Pro rival: a high-refresh 2.8K panel, a lightweight design with keyboard and stylus accessories, and a surprising dual-OS setup that blends productivity and mobile-friendly apps.
At its core, the MegaBook can be configured with either a Core Ultra 5 226V or Core Ultra 5 228V. The big twist is that the entry-level 226V model is completely fanless, making it what’s being touted as the first passively cooled laptop based on Lunar Lake. Despite sharing the same core architecture, TDP, and integrated graphics as the 228V, the 226V variant is tuned for silent operation—great for classrooms, meetings, and quiet workspaces.
The 14-inch OLED display is another highlight, pairing a sharp 2.8K resolution with a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate for crisp text, vivid colors, and fluid scrolling. A 59 Wh battery keeps things moving, while the detachable keyboard and stylus accessories help the MegaBook pull double duty as a laptop and tablet for note-taking, sketching, and on-the-go productivity.
Perhaps the most intriguing feature is the software experience. Alongside Windows 11, the MegaBook also runs MegaOS, an in-house Android 14 fork designed for x86 hardware. That dual-OS approach opens the door to mobile-first apps and workflows without giving up the familiarity and power of Windows—an attractive combo for students, creators, and multitaskers.
