GMKtec Unveils EVO-T2 Mini PC Launch Plans, Confirming OCuLink Support and 10Gbps Ethernet

GMKtec is preparing to launch its next-generation mini PC, the EVO-T2, a direct successor to last year’s EVO-T1. The company first teased the EVO-T2 in late November, and now—just ahead of CES 2026—it has shared clearer launch details along with a better picture of what buyers can expect from the new compact desktop.

At the heart of the GMKtec EVO-T2 will be Intel’s latest Panther Lake processors. GMKtec says these chips will be configured to reach up to an 80 W dynamic TDP, aiming to deliver stronger performance than typical low-power mini PCs while still maintaining a small footprint.

To back up the new CPU platform, the EVO-T2 is set to support up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X memory. This is a big deal for users who run heavy multitasking loads, virtual machines, content creation apps, or demanding productivity workflows and want a mini PC that doesn’t feel limited.

Storage expandability also looks like a major focus. GMKtec plans to offer up to 16 TB of total storage using two internal slots, including support for both PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 5.0. That mix should allow for a flexible build—whether the priority is maximizing capacity, pushing faster NVMe speeds, or combining a high-speed boot drive with a larger secondary SSD.

Connectivity is another highlight. The EVO-T2 will include OCuLink, a feature many enthusiasts look for when they want a cleaner path to external GPU support and other high-bandwidth expansions. It will also feature USB4, which is useful for fast external storage, modern docks, and display connectivity depending on the final configuration.

Networking options appear especially robust for a small form factor system. GMKtec lists both 2.5 Gbps Ethernet and 10 Gbps Ethernet, which can appeal to creators working with large files over a NAS, lab environments, small office setups, and power users who want a mini PC that can double as a compact workstation or home server.

As for availability, GMKtec says the official EVO-T2 release is planned for later this quarter. Pricing hasn’t been revealed yet, but with flagship-class networking, high memory ceilings, PCIe 5.0 storage support, and Panther Lake inside, it’s shaping up to be a serious mini PC option for 2026 buyers watching the premium compact desktop space.
