GMKtec is bringing its compact NucBox K13 mini PC to the global market after debuting in China, giving buyers worldwide a small-but-serious desktop option powered by Intel’s Lunar Lake platform. What makes this release especially appealing is that the international pricing stays relatively close to the original China launch, which isn’t always the case for newly global mini PCs.
Two configurations are available at launch. The entry model comes with 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD, currently offered at a promotional price of $669.99. If you need more space out of the box, there’s also a version with a 1TB SSD, discounted to $719.99. For anyone comparing mini PC price-to-performance, these launch deals are likely to be a major draw, especially considering the processor inside.
At the heart of the NucBox K13 is the Intel Core Ultra 7 256V, a higher-tier mid-range chip from the Lunar Lake family. Graphics are handled by the integrated Intel Arc 140V iGPU, which is positioned to deliver solid 1080p gaming results for many modern titles as long as you’re willing to adjust visual settings. That makes the K13 a strong fit for people who want a compact workstation that can also handle light-to-moderate gaming without needing a full-size desktop tower.
Storage flexibility is another standout. Even though GMKtec sells the system with up to a 1TB SSD, the mini PC includes two PCIe 4.0 storage slots, each capable of supporting drives up to 8TB. In other words, the NucBox K13 can be expanded to a massive 16TB total capacity, which is impressive for a mini PC this small and great for creators, media collectors, or anyone building a tiny home server-style setup with lots of fast local storage.
The physical design is built around portability and clean desk setups. The chassis measures 186 x 88 x 36.6mm, making it smaller than many other Lunar Lake-based mini PCs. Despite the compact footprint, connectivity is well-rounded, which is often the deciding factor for buyers choosing between mini PC models.
Port selection includes:
2 full-function USB4 ports
2 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports
1 USB 2.0 Type-A port
1 HDMI 2.1 port
1 5G LAN port
1 3.5mm audio jack
Those dual USB4 ports are particularly valuable because they open the door to external GPU (eGPU) support, which can significantly boost gaming and graphics performance if you decide the integrated GPU isn’t enough. While an OCuLink port would have been a nice bonus for certain high-bandwidth external setups, USB4 still gives the K13 strong upgrade potential compared to many similarly sized mini PCs.
Cooling is another concern with ultra-compact computers, but GMKtec says the K13 uses a turbine fan cooling design intended to keep temperatures under control during heavier workloads. That’s important for sustained performance, whether you’re multitasking, running productivity apps, or pushing the CPU and iGPU for extended periods.
Rounding out the package, the NucBox K13 also supports WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, and it can drive up to three displays, making it a practical option for multi-monitor productivity, trading setups, or compact office workstations.
With a Lunar Lake Core Ultra 7 processor, capable Arc integrated graphics, expandable storage up to 16TB, USB4 connectivity for eGPU options, and a notably small chassis, the GMKtec NucBox K13 positions itself as a compelling compact mini PC for buyers who want modern performance without sacrificing desk space.
