Casio is teaming up with Dragon Quest for a new collector-friendly release: the Casio G-Shock x Dragon Quest VII Reimagined collaboration watch, announced for Japan. The limited-edition digital model arrives as a celebration of the refreshed adventure game edition, which is set to return on February 5, 2026. For fans of the long-running RPG series and anyone who loves special-edition G-Shock drops, this is one of those crossovers that feels built for display and daily wear alike.
The watch is based on the classic DW-5600 silhouette, giving it that instantly recognizable rectangular G-Shock profile. Casio leans hard into Dragon Quest VII Reimagined’s visual identity with a navy, bright blue, and orange color scheme inspired by the game’s logo. Look a little closer and you’ll spot extra nods to the game world: an outline of a ship sits at the bottom right of the frame, and multiple Slime details appear across the design. One of the best touches is how the Slime motif shows up when the LED backlight is turned on, making the reference feel more playful than purely decorative. To finish it off, the Dragon Quest VII Reimagined logo is engraved on the metal case back, reinforcing its status as a true collaboration piece rather than a simple color variant.
Beyond the visuals, it’s still very much a DW-5600 at heart, which is good news for anyone who prefers proven reliability over experimental features. You get a clear digital display with the familiar light background and dark numerals, along with everyday essentials like a stopwatch, countdown timer, hourly time signal, and a multi-function alarm. The fully automatic calendar runs through the year 2099, and expected accuracy is rated within 15 seconds per month. Like other models in this family, it’s also built to take a beating: 200-meter water resistance is included, and the battery is estimated to last around five years.
Pricing in Japan is set at ¥18,700 (around $118). Demand is already high, with pre-orders reported as sold out at participating retailers, even with a one-per-person purchase limit in place. The release date is scheduled for February 3, 2026, and Casio is bundling the watch with a collectible tin plus custom packaging—making it especially appealing for Dragon Quest collectors, G-Shock enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys limited-edition gaming collaborations.
